The Heritage
Cookbook
As her Senior Thesis Project, Jane designed The Heritage Cookbook. It is a complete reflection and tribute to Austrian tradition, flavors, and culture. The cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes. It is a dedication to Jane's family history. With sections on history, pages of family photography, and accents of Austrian culture, the book takes you through a journey honoring Austria for its beauty.
The cookbook is divided into seven sections—sips, salads, soups, snacks, sauces, suppers, and sweets—featuring forty recipes rooted in Austrian tradition, with a few adaptations made after immigrating to America. Over half of the dishes are accompanied by photography styled with authentic Austrian linens, chinaware, and garnishes. The book opens with family photographs, heritage insights, and reflections on Austrian cuisine and a study abroad experience. Its collage-inspired design incorporates Austrian florals, textiles, and patterns, embracing the rustic charm of the European countryside. The Heritage Cookbook “celebrates generations of Austrian flavors and heritage.”

The Thesis Exhibition was designed to create an immersive, Austrian experience. Sprinkled with photography, Austrian table and chairs, linens and dishes, the entire scene invites you to explore Austrian culture and cuisine. Finished with take-home bookmarks and recipe cards.
